wow I did not join this club for free stuff as much as I joined for wealth of info from other anglers. Do you get this mad at Ed when he does not send you a million dollars.

I am a lifer also and agree with the rest of the life members, if you joined this club for free stuff then mabey you would be better off cancelling your mebership and joining a different club. I to joined because of what the club does in helping preserve the water and sport I love.

I joined for the free stuff, and got it! Then I found out there was more here. This is actually my second time to be a member of this club. I am making more use of the club's features this time.

Scratch85, you should be glad that you got what you got.  The only thing I've gotten from the club is hooks and swivels.  Got one product test, but that was also hooks.  Needless to say, I'm quite disapointed in the club.  I wasn't expecting to test a bass boat or a trolling motor, but I was expecting to get at least something out of it.  The forums were great, at first, then they went downhill.  It's practically dead now.  It all happened after this site upgrade they made.  I enjoy all the new features, but since then, hardly anyone visits the forums.  Instead of having 7-10 active topics per day, I'm lucky to get 3.

I will have to seriously reconsider renewing my membership.

I agree, fisherfanatic, that the forums have been dead lately. And I have not received a test product at all so far. I thought I did but it turns out it was just a "free gift." Even though it came with a product review form for some reason! Im glad I joined The Club however. I guess you can call me an optimist! I think things will get better!

I agree with fisherfanatic...When I joined over a year ago and became a lifemember....(before the site change) the forums were active...lots of postings, useful and not...but they were active...since the site upgrade, they've been dead. Too many errors and very slow website etc, etc...It seems like NAFC wants to be like "facebook" or "twitter". Why do I have to join facebook, friend Steve Pennaz to get an issue resolved?? I'm not into the whole "social network" thing. Steve Pennaz doesn't know me, and I don't know him. All in all...it's not a bad club, it just needs some serious improvements. The whole selling point with this club is the product testing...GET RID OF IT. About 70% of the people who join, join to get free stuff...and when they don't get anything, they start{1}*****ing...
Oh...NAFC...still cant access my account when I log in...
(serious improvements are needed, maybe personal changes too...start from the top)

I was happy with my membership back last year, but as soon as the changes occured, the club went downhill.

I agree with you about Facebook and social networking. I have no use for them either. But like I said im glad I joined. Serious improvements are definitely needed though.

I am a life member and do not receive such promotions.I did not join to receive free things or to test free products,i joined because i think this club supports smart fishing and taking care of the sport and the water we get to play on every weekend.thats what this is about.if you want free stuff join B.A.S.S. or some other club.I honestly think that if you want to cancel your membership over a fillet knife i dont think you belong anyway

see that is the smart thing you fish cus you love it so well if you are going to goin a club for fishing you sould do it for the love of the sport not for free things

Why has no-one pointed out that all of us have PAID for a membership and since the "improvements" it has become almost impossible to enjoy some of the features like the forums that many of us joined for? I hate to be a pessimist but ever since the site became linked with Facebook it seems those who choose not to use Facebook have become second class citizens. Tom

I will repeat my self here this club is full of opportunity It puts you in contact with other members who fish, own resorts, make lures ,guide , are lure distributors,  try making some friends here and see where it leads you .

I have gone  on a guided musky fishing trip .  A guided trout fishing trip . stayed at a members house when out of town saving me the cost of a motel and food .

Now lets add the opportunity to win fishing gear, trips, and what not in the contests.  and perhaps  a chance to field test a product.

I would give up the field testing all together , to make just one friend to EXCHANGE IDEAS WITH, TO FISH WITH, TO BARTER WITH .TO TEACH ME NEW WAYS TO FISH . TO LAUGH WITH . TO ENRICH MY LIFE.

NOW WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH THAT ONE FRIENDSHIP YOU JUST MADE BECAUSE OF THIS CLUB .

you may find a deal from every friend you make. I have received many free gifts, sent other members care packages .
why because they are my friends .  some friends i never seen in person only from my talks online in the forums.

Take a kid fishing , If the fish aint biting entertain them. Photobucket

I whole-heartily disagree...... I think this club is wonderful, and agree with "The Rod Tosser's" assessment. I am a life member who has a life long passion for fishing and making new friends. That is how anything in life is learned. Yes, Academics plays a part, its the outline for life, but its the on-the-ground, hands on experiences that what really teaches us how to live. Just the magazine subscription is worth the Life member Fee.. I don't fish to get free stuff, I fish because i love to fish. I am thankful for the friends that I have made since joining the club, and hope to make many more....I don't knock facebook or twitter either. They are tools that enriches the club experience. Look at it this way; we all don't have just one lure, one hook, one reel/rod in our fishing arsenal; our tackle is a culmination of different tools we use to better enjoy our sport. The Club is the same, so fish and enjoy life, and use the tools the club utilizes to make our experience a better one......

See all previous posts about being a whiny little out of line *expletive*, joining club for wrong reasons, etc. Curious how you've been a member for 5 years, yet according to your profile "Member Since: 3/2/2010". In any case, if all you can contribute to the club is how sad you are about not receiving swag, noted. Don't let the E-door hit ya...

On regards to the to the knife set I got it a while ago. You’re not missing much. To “LIFisherman” if you go and reenter for the product testing 2 times a year then you will never get anything from them. Because every time you reenter it puts you at the back of the list
