I grew up fishing P.Preist and Old Hickory but moved northwest of Nashville when I got married and have been fishing Cheatham Lake recently. Just wondering if any others are familiar with the lake and the fishing there. I don't have a boat so I fish from the bank and was wondering if anyone might have some useful info.

I go to the Dickson county side of the Cheatham Dam to bankfish for Stripers & cats. During the week is the best time to fish the bank there because on the weekends it gets way to packed on the banks there. You can also fish the Cheatham county side alot more area there & you can fish the top of the dam from there as well as below it. Hope this helps.

The bad thing about living in Clarksville is that anywhere you go to fish is going to be at least 45 minutes away. But the good thing is that you can basically go any direction for 45 minutes to an hour and be on a different body of water. I think its a great central point for a fisherman. If you want convinent fishing, go fishing on post on Lake Kyle or Lake Tahl and there is even a good little pond in training area 8A. You just have to check in at the rec center on the corner of lafayette and gate 10 road prior to going to any one of those three.
