Does any one have suggestions for good quality lip grabbers.  I don't want one with a scale on it.
    Thanks

Berkley makes several without a scale. But I foung the best lip grabber is the one's at the end of your hand.

You must live south where there are no toothy critters! I wouldn't dream of putting my fingers in a notrhern's mouth. Boga grip is the gold standard, the Berkleys are fine. I was given a BPS branded grip/scale, the scale isn't worth much but the grip part has been just fine! Tom

No Tom I live in Western Washington and we don't have any toothy critters here unless you fish salt water and I don't . I do fish for walleye on the east side of the state but I use a net for them so I have no need for lip grippers, but they are a handy tool. Your right Boga grip is the standard but a little expensive.

The problem with northern is you always catch one when fishing for something else. Last one I caught came while crappie fishing and while only 25" or so, it was a handfull as I didn't have any of the correct tackle. Watch for posts from Prober, he lives in Port Orchard. Tom

I'm pretty sure Rapala makes one, but I not positive.

I  keep a good sized landing net in my boat, although I've only used it once to land a 25 pound flathead cat. I just lip the rest of my catches. I have a rubberized glove for grabbing the lower jaw of larger catfish to keep them from scraping my hands with their teeth.

I just found out that there is a lip grabber tool that works like a pair of locking pliers. Sounds more secure than some of the ones I've tried so far. No idea who sells them. Tom

This is what I use. I don't have the grip I used to have and a big bass can flip out of my hand. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...rchResults

    If you don't need a scale check Cabela's item #WL- 01-3780. Tom
