Make sure you've got the right equipment.   LOL's.

I guess the most challenging way is artificial lures.  Cutbait, would be my choice for the majority of catfish.

Is there any kind of lure in particular?

Not really, but I've caught them on inline spinners, spoons, and various crank baits.  It's mostly luck for me.

Any live bait from 4 inches to 10 inches would make good bait for big catfish.

I personally prefer cut bait, dough balls (white or wheat bread wrapped around a hook), or pieces of hot dogs. If you use dough balls, you may also bag a few carp!

Andrew, I live in Adair county - fish several spots your direction. I prefer live or cut shad, but small bluegills work well too.
