I like to make a Portable Live well with a cooler 75 qt. I have for the prodject is as follows, 2 Pumps 1(new) 1 (used) then 3' clear wire enforce hose, 2' black 1" OD flex hose, 1" OD PVC pipes and 4 elbows 3 hose connector. 3 used boat hull parts, 1 float auto switch, 1 live well timer

You will see how much room I have for fishing and the close quarters, so I will have to make a portable live will instead of a mounted thru hull! So what I need is step by step on making a live well. The last 7 photos is my 16' Matthew! Thanks Dennis |

Check out tinboats.net. There are some good homemade livewells on there.

You can buy inexpensive kit at WalMart or Bass Pro Shops or you could drop by one day and check out the parts. Looks like from the pictures you have every thing. I am not too mechanically inclined but I usually can rig up some little things. The one I have just sits in ice chest and I run the wire between ice chest and lid.. It was important to me to have separate battery for ice chest. I don't use a timer because it is so hot here it needs to run all the time. Before I sold my ranger I was real bad about leaving it on. Since I have gone to ice chest I don't leave it on as much. Good luck! Uncle Tom |

| I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country. |

Thanks Goat83 & UncleTomJigs, I figured it out and almost have it all completed. I'm not going to use the timer either, I have a rocker switches and hooking up the 2 pumps and I have 2 shut off valves so I can pump in an then circulate and then when finished it can be pumped out!. Thanks for just given me your ideas! Dennis |

Glad to hear everything is working out for live well. Sounds like everything worked out great. Now you need to send us a step by step and a photo of finished product. I believe that is what is right about NAFC and they don't have a clue how much we enjoy one another. Good luck with filling that livewell. There are some great chemicals on the market that help keep fish alive and improve their help if you are going to release some. Good luck and good fishing! Uncle Tom |

Well I finished the livewell and I used some things that is not conventional to the rest of yours! I have a pump that circulates the water and I'm using a washing machine hose for the water connections! I lost the bottom of the pump and had to use something or go out and spend more money! I drilled the side of the cooler and then drilled out the drain plug area! Mounted a bilge pump inside of the cooler to drain the water out! I have 2 electric switches for the pumps and drilled 2 holes in the hull of the boat! I have 2 shut off valves and that is about it! Thank You all for the helpful information! Dennis

Nice job! I've been thinking of doing something like that for my john boat. Now that I saw yours I might work on mine this weekend. Got a tourny coming up and that would be perfect.
