This would have been better off posted under 'Lures and Baits' I would think that an aquarium might be your best bet. A pet store that specialises in aquariums might be a good reference.Tom

ya with that many you'll need a big tank with lots of running water throu it to help keep it high in O2. plus a good filtering system.

if ya were going out and catching a few for 1 fishing outing, i'd get a pail with moss, boss bedding or pieces of news paper dampend with water......no standing water it will kill them. it took a couple of tries before i learnd this.

You can keep them alive for 3 to 4 weeks in a large wooden box lined with Homeasote. The homeasote will soak up water and provide cooling. I fill the box with rotten leaves, newspaper, bass bedding. Water this down really well. Keep your crabs in the shade. If it gets really warm you can put a quart of frozen water in the box. Change it every day or more often if needed. You can also keep them in a tub partially filled with water. Keep the tub tipped and place a good sized piece of wood or a flat rock in the tub so the crabs can crawl on top to get out of the water. Don't cover the bottom with water the crabs like to get out of the water and they like to crawl around and get on top of things. Change the water every day. Hope you find this helpful.

Was wondering what size, how many, and from where can you order craw fish?  For instance I use the smallest I can find for pan fish and the largest I can find for bass & catfish.  Aquariums are good tanks and usually you can find them cheap at flea markets or yard sales.  I got a truck load once from pet store going out of business.  Use little water and make sure craws have ample place to get out of water.  I have been experimenting with Yum artificial craws and scents--work pretty good and come in various sizes and no upkeep or ordering.  Give them a try.  Wonder if they would work on trot line or jugs?  Good luck and good fishing!  Uncle Tom
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.

I usually wrap them in damp cloth and keep it in my fridge. You can get several wks out of that.
