Just what is the significance, if any, of the Life Member Honor Roll?

Good question. I think that is up to the individual. as for me I have been kind of keeping my eye out for my name but It's no big deal that I have not seen it in 11 years. I think maybe some would like to see their name in print and have others know that they are a life member. Of course I don't know 99.99 percent of the folks whos name appears. Now Im not saying that it is not important to to other members. A nice improvement would be to cut down the size of the list but feature a few lifers with a short bio and possibly a picture. like what they do with the member spotlite except that we would get to know more members faster. instead of one an issue we would have lets say 5 life members spotlighted.

it used to be a way to show Who was on the list of Life Membership. BUT, IMHO, since they created this other Trophy deal its seem to fallen by the way side. I have made the list Once and I am proud of it. |

I'm almost afraid to ask ... What is a Trophy Life Member and what does it cost and what do you get for your money? |

Trophy Life Member is just an upgrade from Life membership. It gives you access to the trophy room, you can get free topo maps, you get a really nice patch, and all sorts of neat things to do in the trophy room. I believe it cost me like $129 to up grade. Here, here...that's a great point.
Maybe there thinking is like that of a country club? You know darn well that the people that belong to those things aren't the greatest either, so there ya go...my two cents. |

Well Just for Your Two cents BUBBA I am Proud of my Trophy Life membership And I NEVER said anything about staus and Before you make a Useless two cent post like you NEED to check your sources.
Besides If this was a dick measuring contest Trust me you'd lose. I have LOST more tourneys then you Ever fished in , Catfish, carp and bass.
Now back on topic, as for the STATUS of your club membership it means DICK! its just like Upgrading your membership from chapter to lifer. they send you more goods and offers, and give you access to other sections of the site.
if you don't like it don't sign up for it. |

Some of my best friends are Trophy members and I still let them in my boat! But seriously, congrats to those that have chosen Tropy and Life member up-grades. As Brian stated below, it is a personal thing and no one should hold it against another...No matter what sort of membership they choose! To me you are all fellow members that I would be proud to fish with... Stay well, friends! |

Sorry freinds for my harsh words. I'am just fed up with these people who go out and buy thousand dollar bass boats and gear subscribe to a couple of magizines, enter a couple of tournys and then they all think their pros.... Give me a bambo pole and a log and i put them to shame. |

jwartgow, I am sorry if my post was directed towards you. it was NOT ment to be a personal shot Honestly, I just get tire of the whiners about the membership status thing. Its Nice if you can afford it and for me I do NOT use alot of the things they offer but I do Enjoy knowing the fact it is there if I need to have it. I have been a life member since 02' ( member way before ) and I have met some great folks via this forum and this club. Once again I do want to apologize for my comments as they were made in a moment when i should have just turned this box off and hit the bed. Eric |

status or fancy patches on your jacket or hat or even a shiny new bass boat doesn't put fish on the end of your hook. if you want to upgrade thats your business i"ll still answer you on this. why can we all just get along |

To step away from the pissin' match and get back to the original question, who cares? Seeing your name in the mag might be important to some folks but I could care less. I go fishing and I judge each trip not on how many fish I caught or how big they were but on whether I enjoyed myself. I have had some of my most memorable trips when not a fish was caught but a pleasant day was had by all. Tom |

No "attitudes" allowed here guyz Eric...nice of you to apologize I don't personally believe that Trophy Life status is worth the money....but since I've been unemployed for the last 27 months...I wouldn't spend that kind of money on something like that anyway. Back to the ORIGINAL question...I don't have a clue as to what the Club used as a criteria for the "Life Member Honor-role" in the magazine. |

hey dave I over reacted and I am sorry. as for the Original post, maybe this should have been posted in the ask the editors section? I know Kurt would have personally answered it if it was there. But like most folks, this thread has been burred with all the new post. JMHO |

How are the topo maps do they represent just the biggest lakes in a state or are they available for every public body of water? |
