hoosierbuddy?  ...don't confuse topo maps with bathymetric / contour / depth maps.

MOST topo maps only show above water features.

I did a topic in Member's Tips a few years ago about this...I'll see if I can find it and bring it up to the top of the Forum.

It's the club way to give a lap dance and charge you that high price for things you can get for free. I found out that you never question the actions of the club, if you do, you will be a outcast another words shunned and marked as a disgruntle member. Then you may get information on the forum or not. So I found out don't B~~~h about the club. Just fair warning!

That would be appreciated davesett2000. Although I probably wouldn't know the difference if I was looking at it. I can see where they might come in handy tough

The topo map I got of my favorite lake is great and I use it in conjunsion with my Navonics chip in my GPS and t seems that both are spot on.

I'm still trying to figure out why I became a life member. I don't care about status and never fished in touraments. I fish for my own pleasure and to put some fish in the pan. I've been fishing for about 60, yes 60 years and enjoyed every minute of it.

Hi Zeke. welcome to the forum. So are you saying you are glad to be a life member? Or it just doesn't matter? I find that that status not considered, there are still some great benefits to being a life member. every person has his or her right to choose and should be welcomed regardless of what membership they choose.

Its been a while since I've come up on the web site. I guess being a life member is okay, at least I don't have to worry about dues. Really not interested in that trophy stuff. Like everyone else that comes up here. I enjoy fishing even when I don't catch anything. It's just nice being in the outdoors and observing mother nature.

I have considered trophy membership and decided that I was perfectly happy with being a life member and would not benefit that much from trophy status. Everyone has their reasons for becoming a trophy member and I would never consider knocking someone for it. I counted how many mags I have received and came up with at least 75 ( I think I have a couple of issues missing). and at a modest $5 bucks a mag( this seems to be the going rate for a mag this size) i have received $375 worth of the magazine plus the membership gifts. just this alone has made up for my dues I paid plus the value of all the great members and their advice. everything else is gravy from here on out.

As far as I remember, We have all probably had our name in the magazine at least once. When you join, they publish your name in the "New Members" section. That was all the fame I needed. I did send in a picture of myself holding a nice size rainbow though. I was hoping it was going to be published. The reason I thought I had a shot was I was wearing an NAFC Life Member jacket. You don't see these normally in those pictures. I called the club and asked about it. They gave me a rational answer. I took the picture with my cell phone and sometime these pictures are not of the best quality for publishing. As for the Trophy Membership, I think Pete made a good point. We are all members. Some Charter, some Lifers and now some Trophy. But we are all still members. And I like hearing all the tips and reading the reports and viewing the pictures from everyone. That's what makes the forum experience enjoyable.

Howdy Pete,
This old dog has had to learn a bunch of new tricks to stay alive but all is well.  I have relocated to Virginia recently.  I almost moved out to your neck of the woods  Western Pa if I remember correctly.  I hope all is good with you and yours and am looking forward to poking my head in here a lot more in the future.
