Good attitude Brian, have the meet regardless its just to bad the club won't put an announcement in the magazine. If anyone could make it they should, you would be suprised at what it could lead to. Thanks Brian for putting this together if I was closer than NY I'd be there. Good Luck.

ALL the Member Meets started out small Brian.

MAYBE consider a SEPARATE topic here in Member Meets for scenary pics / maps / "screenshots of maps" of the area like I did for the La Crosse area and the Gwinn area.

Don't get discouraged...and after the Meet...post some pics...and a general chronolgical write up. A combination of activity/scenary/fish pics SEEMS the best way to document the get-together.

You've seen what the rest of us do with our Meet things

Hope you get a few folks to enjoy some camaraderie with!

Thanks turnip. should be fun regardless of how many show up. Our weathers been kind of screwy lately but typically we usually have some good weather this time of year plus most of the water skiers are gone. I'll be sure to take a bunch of pictures to post.

If anyone is interested, here is some info on Jordanelle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Jordanelle.JPG . I used to fish this area before they built the damn. The provo river ran through this pretty valley on its way to Deer creek res from the uinta mountains. This was a nice secluded stretch that did not get alot of pressure because of private property but if you entered the stream at hailstone junction you could avoid tresspassing. The streamside was lined with cottonwood trees and made for an excellent fall fishing day. expecially when the browns started spawning. The provo river through this section was a nice variety of fishable water from meandering channels with undercut banks to nice rocky sections with deep holes and long riffle areas. Browns and Bows where the main species with the browns averaging 18" with a good shot at a mid 20 fish. there were also a few cutts and some whitefish. Brookies up higher in the uinta's. The provo is still a first class fishing stream expecially for fly guys. above jordanelle is alot of private land until you get in the uinta national forest area. the middle provo between jordanelle and deer creek is now a tailwater with excellent fishing but lotsof crowds. and easments on private land for recreation access. the lower provo is also hot.
Jordanelle now carries a mixed bag of species. Still good browns with fish netted by dwr in the 30" range, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, perch, and I heard walleye that should not be there but have never caught any.

anyway the get together is in 9 days and so far not to much of a response but we are going ahead anyway. again anyone interested email me or PM me brian.petersen@imail.org

Well folks. Not much of a turnout. just me and my wife and kids. Thank you albinotrout for attempting to locate some other utah members, wish you could have made it. Jordanelle state park was crowded and very windy on saturday. Tons of wave runners and jet skiers. The large pavilion next to us was having a big charity event to send christmas presents to third word countries. a little bit after we got there and set up a large group of bikers pulled in(at least 50) nice harley's everywere. turns out that alot of them were from the local Bikers for Christ chapter and were very nice folks. anyway did not do much fishing but had a great time anyway. There are a few more utah members on the forum now and we will give it a shot again. Thanks for all the encouraging comments.

Ok, Brian...It's a start! If it means anything to ya, keep at it. Eventually members will turn out, and not many at first. I'm glad to hear ya had a good time and I look forward to hearing more about Utah activities!
