Wow 2 great days of fishing.  We had a field of 54 boats and some good bags were weighed in.  My wife and I finished 10th over all and got a nice pay check.  We caught lots of largemouth, weighed in 9 and one smallie for a total of 18.09 lbs.  If you never fished a Jack and Jill you should give it a try next year it's a really fun tourny, and you can't beat the food and raffle they hold.  If there are any NAFC club members in Northend Bass that read these forums I'd like to say thanks for a great weekend and a great time. I'll see you next year.

Thanks Brad. I just hope the luck holds out. I have another one in two weeks on Roosvelt. But the check I got in no way makes up for all the bucks I put out so far on entry fees. lol

No we will be launching out of Cresent Bay at the dam and will be weighing in at Spring Canyon Park. If the fish are in my secret LOL hole we should be in the money.

Thanks Brian. Man it was just one of those days were everything we did was right. We had a ball, and what could be better than to get paid for doing something you love. I just hope things go as well on my next tournament on Lake Roosvelt.

You Know Harry. I have recently checked out our different Bass clubs here in utah and have found it a bit confusing on what you need a membership for such as B.A.S.S or FLW. plus a membership to the local club of choice. any advice for wading through all the info and getting started? I have not done a huge amount of bass fishing but I used to join my father all the time after he got into it. He stopped bass fishing a few years before he died. I still have a bunch of his tackle plus some of my own. I do not at this time have a boat but i understand that you can still get involved with tournaments without one.

Brian most bass clubs are affiliated with B.A.S.S. or FLW and require thier club members to a member of BASS or FLW. If you are a member of either of these you can fish the qualifiers in order to make it into a state team tournament, which can qualify for the Classic. And under BASS rules thoise clubs have certin thing they have to do, such as lake clean ups, cast for kids and a few other things. If there is a local club in your area try and contact them and attend one of the meetings and see what they require and and find out if they have non-boaters in the club. (Non-Boater is someone that doesn't have a boat). I do not belong to a club forsay I fish a Pro Circut that is not affiliated with BASS or FLW. Our membership is $50 a year and $250 entry fees per tournament. Most clubs are around $35 per year to join and a some have a small entry fee.

I started a club in 1995 and ran it for 5 years we did not require a BASS membership to join. Dues were $40 a year and no entry fees for tournaments, but we didn't fish for money just trophy's. We also held a raffle at each tourny to rase money for the annual banquet.
But like I said check out your local club to see what it's all about. Who knows some day I might see you on TV.LOL
