Was fishing up North in the French River with one of my best friends. We were in a bay called Crombie Bay. We were throwing buzz-baits to catch some pike for dinner. We ended up in the back of the bay casting towards this dock. The pike we were catching all had bite marks & chunks torn out of them. My bud said there is something big in here that is eating or biting these Pike. I didn't think anything of it at the time. He hooked & landed a nice pike as I continued to cast at that dock. After about 7 or 8 casts I was thinking of changing directions when all of a sudden the water just exploded at my buzz-bail. My rod was doubled & out of the shallows came this huge fish. Well never catching a musky before,I had no clue as to what it was !! I asked my Friend,What the heck is that ??? He said Oh My God,you have on your first Musky. I was thrilled beyond belief !!! So now the fight is on. She was tearing line off my drag & heading for deeper water !! My friend said If you can, steer her away from the deep water !! Try to keep her here !! Luckily I was able to do that,Thank God for Power Pro !!! We had it out for about 10 min when I was able to finally get her along side the boat. I kept thinking "don't loose her,Don't loose her". Finally we got her in the net & I was elated beyond anything I have ever felt. (as far as fishing goes). She was a beauty & we got some pics & had to get her back in the water because of Canada's slot limit. She went a little over 40 inches.I Was VERY happy to say,she swam off but not before soaking me with a huge splash !!! I will never forget that day & that trip !!!

CONGRATULATIONS ON WORLD CLASS SPLASH!  What was a reality for you is a dream I've had most of my life.  Every time I read your story or one like it I get light headed--a real rush that can not be artificially induced.  Thank God for those kind of moments and your willingness to share it with all of us at NAFC.  Those little fish will always remember the day "Big Mama" met her match!  Do it again!  Uncle Tom
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.
