Good morning regardless of what time of day it is!  Had a brain shock last night and thought if I could start a new post going, we all could participate and see how long we could keep it going.  My thoughts were to create a post where we might share  simple tips that work and save money as well.  First Tip  I love it when the "blue fish" begin their migration along the East Coast.  They offer a real battle that usually destroys plastic grubs after one fish.  Old timer showed me how to cut a McDonald's straw into small pieces or halves, run a stainless steel (avoid rust) leader through it with a bead between front loop and straw and put a bead followed by treble hook on the other end.  Started  with McDonald's straw because it was white with yellow and red stripes.  Great colors for Blue Fish.  You will be surprised how many different color straws fast food chains have and it is so easy it makes a great start to teaching a kid how to build their own lures.  Basic design allows you to tune it to your own likes or dislikes.  Well, that's my tip.  Anyone brave enough to share "yours"?  Uncle Tom
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.

COME ON I KNOW SOME OF YOU GOT SOME GREAT TIPS TO SHARE!  Well, let me add a little life to the first one.  How many different colors of straws can you find to make lures out of?  Sure, McDonald's is white with red and yellow stripes!  What about Burger King?  Hardee's?  Zaxby's?  OK!  Can you think of any others??  Colors only qualify if you can name the name of sponsor!  Good luck and good fishing!  Uncle Tom

Well, since I did not get any response from you, I guess you are waiting for me again.  I'll shoot this one by most of us older guys.  Notice, all those prescription bottles laying around the house.  They make great holders for hooks and weights--grubs and jigheads--beetle spins--small crank baits.  Of course, if you get a larger bottle you can put larger lures in them.  I use those crystal lite containers to be larger grubs and plastic worms and lizards in.  The good thing about them is you can spray some of your favorite scents in them and have them soaked when you get to the lake.  They keep my tackle box a lot more organized.  Come on and share your favorite tips--I want tell!  HeHeHeHe but I know someone who will!  Uncle Tom

No wonder I haven't got much response if I put it in the wrong forum but that is to be expected from someone like me who doesn't know any better.  Thanks for the tip!  Is there a way to paste it in the right place or has all this valuable information gone forever.  Since I have a small book of tips should I start my own topic under Members Tips.  OK, let me hear from you!  Uncle Tom Whoops!  Do they have a smiley for "foot in computer"?
