I just read the paper that mentioned that there is going to be a small slmon season on the Sac, Feather and American rivers. Is anyone else fishing these rivers? I would like to, but need some insight first. Need a boat? Where to get bait? Best areas, wading or plunking?

Go to CDF&G and it is there too. Just never fished there, and have no glue as to what that area is compared to the Salmon fishing I did in Washington.

I'm not sure about the sac or the American, but salmon season on the Feather started a couple of days ago on July 31. There were only a few fish caught, most people were getting skunked last I heard. I will find out for myself next weekend, I'm planning to fish around the Gridley area, I might make my way up to the Oroville Wildlife Area.

I've never fished the Feather for salmon, but I hear it is a pretty good river. I have gone up that way a couple of times for steelhead and I saw a lot of salmon. It seemed like there was a pretty healthy population.

I was an avid salmon fisher up in Washington. Just got restationed here in Lemoore. I would like to try, but know nothing of these rivers and are a half days trip just to drive and look.

Once I get my boat situation taken care of, I hope to be able to get up there to wet a line.
