Hi my name is Jamy and this is the first time I have posted anything on here.
when I make deep fried fish wheather catfish, bass, trout, redfish or whatever I bread my fish with Zesty crackers instead of corn meal. I use a seasoned to taste 2 cup milk 4 egg dip that I dip the fish into before placing it in the finely blended crackers, Cover fish completely and drop into hot pot of canola oil. When the fish turns golden brown they are done. And if I have ant extra dip and crackers left I mix that together real good and ball it up for a different kind of hush puppies.
Hope you try this out and enjoy it as much as I do.

What time will they be ready? How bout running that hush puppy recipe by us? I use to make great hush puppies and lately they are just a mess. Anybody else out there got any good hush puppy recipes? Heard a good recipe down at the hardware store for bowfin--never had any luck before. Guy said to filet the bowfin, put in a glass Pyrex dish, cover with small bottle of Jim Beam or Wild Turkey (cook's choice) cover with aluminum foil, put in oven and close door. Clean up the mess you made! Open oven, remove dish, take foil off, throw fish in garbage, and drink the Gravy!? Yea, he got me on that one. hehehehe Never met that Jim fellow and done got to old to turkey hunt. Uncle Tom

| I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country. |

I have a similar recipe for gar- Dress gar, nail it to a plank. grill over a low fire for 1 hour, remove gar from plank. Discard gar and eat the plank. Seriously, I am not familliar with Zesty crackers, I use butter crackers like Ritz or Townhouse seasoned with a bit of garlic, onion powder and pepper. For the drege, I use a mixture of honey and egg. Give it a try. Tom |

When I deep fry fish I use Zararain's seasoned FISH-FRI crispy southern style and mix it with Bass Pro Shops spicy fish coating and you don't have to dredge the fish. It's a dry coating and they come out great. If you like spicey just usa the BPS coating, But have to warn you it will be HOT!!! Harry |

I always deep fry my fish using a Runion Mix. Fry about 325 degrees until it floats. Delicious. |

You Know what would be really cool? If the club could put together a recipe book with all these recipes from members. I bet you could have a chapter just for all the variations of deep fried fish. Hey what about it Steve? Brian |

Maybe he means "Zesta" saltines. I think they are a Keebler procuct. I have mostly had mine served with the soup at a resturant. |

It's an Amish batter. Here is a website you can buy it from. I get mine from a buddy. I'm not sure if he buys it or makes it. All I know is I get a couple 1 gallon zip lock bags full every once in a while. It also tastes good if you put potato wedges in it and fry them up too.
