Welcome to the BB and I do hope you stay with us for a long time. I don't have anything current, I can only suggest going to your browser and asking questions, you might be surprised what pops up. Go back into the archives of this thread and you might also find information and even links. Good Luck. Allen

I have helped build a couple of them but they were large (25-30 feet), But there is no reason the form could not be made smaller. These were layed-up, made from 1/4 inch thick by 1 1/2 inch boards. One was spruce and the other cedar. The instructions we used came from a book put out by the Smithsonian. The book is not in my possession and I don't remember the title, but I do know that it was put out several years ago by the Smithsonian Institute.  I also was in possession of a home made canoe made out of 1/4 inch plywood. It was 15 feet long, made from 4 sheets of plywood with a fiberglass cloth cover. It was made by a fellow as a scout project and the directions might be available through a scout book. I used it for several years fishing mostly by myself. It was one that would teach a guy proper canoe safety. This is a fun project and I hope you can find the directions. I have been wanting to do another one (20 footer) for myself but have not been able to justify the time and expence sine I already have a 17' grumman.

When I was a teen my scout troop made kayaks, plywood ribs and canvas skins. The skins were treated with the same stuff they used on canvas airplane wings. Don't know where they obtained the plans. I did google up home made canoes and there is information out there, just not as common as it used to be.
