I just wanted to thank the editors for this article by Dave Csanda in the July, August, Sept. issue. I really like bluegill fishing and its hard to beat the fishing during the spawn. I'm sure like many others my pursuit of them lingers into the dog-days when it can be tough going. The article was very well written and in my opinion spot on as far as where the bigger gills go during the hot spells.
There were a lot of helpful hints and suggestions given by Dave, some of which I've used with success and a couple others that I am gonna try. Never thought about the leech thing, I'm definitely gonna try that. I'm a pretty big fan of those little ice jigs for bluegill fishing, especially after the spawn.
No matter whats going on otherwise my day gets a little brighter when I pull your magazine out of my mailbox! Thank You and God bless! |

Hi jwebster24. I do enjoy crappie fishing also. There are a ton of good crappie fisheries in Indiana. Huntington, and Salamonie resevoirs are both loaded with crappie. There are many lakes up north in Steuben county and surrounding counties. Lake Hamilton has a good crappie population and some are huge...15"+ are not uncommon. Are you living anywhere near Ft. Wayne? |
