Hello Everybody. I just stopped in to say that I've addicted another fisherman. Earlier this year I hooked my son and a friend on kayak fishing. 2 weeks ago I hooked another friend on it. If this continues we will have a flotilla of kayaks storming the waters of Maryland.

Good Job Dio,
I have been kayak fishing for about 7 years. I have hooked more than a few people on it as well. There is nothing like being that close to the water.

I hear ya, I'm gearing up to give the Atlantic Ocean a go. Heading to North Carolina at the end of the week. We are going to give the Atlantic a go (one of the few time I will wear my life vest).

I've kayak fished before, but I'm not hooked. Fishing from a kayak can be difficult at times.

You need one with a comfortable back rest. It certainly is not for someone with a bad back. After a little bit of practice, you learn to manuever the kayak in the right position with minimal effort. I am able to use one hand most of the time to adjust myself when needed.
It gets tougher with a strong wind or current added into the mix.
I have a smaller one that weighs about 40 pounds which makes it fairly easy to carry and lift on and off of the SUV.
What you may sacrifice in comfort or the ability to be able to get up and move around like in a boat, you definitely gain in accessibility to waters even the smallest boats can't get in. You have that "Stealth" quality.
