Yea brother kinda far for me, although I never lose hope to go north and fish over there, I'm in Coachella Valley. I hear alot of talk about Mendota Slough in the United States Catfish Association site, alot of fellow fishermen and gals in your area. Hit up that site then let me know how it went. Or.... if you come down let me know....hmmmm.
