Many times have I had the opportunity to fish with Crawdads, however, every time I cast they come off. I tried several approaches tro put them on the hook, yet at no prevail.

Any advise on how to put them on the hook? Especially live ones, since I have a chance to catch them at the lake I fish with ease. Or am I simply using the wrong hook?
