there is talk about doing away with lead in amo and fishing gear believe me it can happen just look what has happened to the recreational miners in calif . we can not dredge for gold because some democrats put a bill through that stopped us from dredgeing that same group can put a bill through that stops you from useing lead in fishing and hunting . democrat waxman is the one that stopped us from dredging the dems can do the same along with antis that dont want you to fish and hunt . they just tryed to get the epa to ban it . if they want it your govnor will sign it he is not a republican as he says .  he will do as his wife says . she is a kennedy . stop this from happening . vote repub and defend our rights as AMERICANS

Seems to ME that you haven't bothered to read ANY of the articles that have been written about the WATER QUALITY in MANY of California's streams and rivers...an in particular...in the OLD "gold mining" areas / watersheds over the last 5 years.

I should know...I lived there for 23 years until Sept 2008

    It basically s*cks

California + "DFG" + "water quality"

    http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&q=California+%2B+%22DFG%22+%2B+%22water+quality%22&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=fdfb9c54bdf6e14b

California + "DFG" + "water quality" + streams + mining

    http://www.google.com/#hl=en&expIds=26781,26885,26890,26993&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=California+%2B+%22DFG%22+%2B+%22water+quality%22+%2B+streams+%2B+mining&cp=55&pf=p&sclient=psy&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=California+%2B+%22DFG%22+%2B+%22water+quality%22+%2B+streams+%2B+mining&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=fdfb9c54bdf6e14b

California + "DFG" + "water quality" + streams + "lead contamination"

    http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&q=California+%2B+%22DFG%22+%2B+%22water+quality%22+%2B+streams+%2B+%22lead+contamination%22&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=fdfb9c54bdf6e14b

    USGS document...

DO YOU feel that it is YOUR RIGHT as an American to do WHATEVER YOU feel is correct? Trust me on this...there are a BUNCH of folks out there that are a LOT MORE informed as to what water quality is than what ANY of us regular folks are

The dredging issue is particularly pertinent IMHO

ive probely remove more lead than you have lost fishing in the last 5 years . abuot 25 lbs . and about 2 lbs of murcury . who else removes this from the streams . and dredge season ist set so as not to conflick with sponing season . ihave read all of the things you posted . if you dig deaper you will find other ones that controdict those . answer this one onistly . what would you say if they said no more fishing because it hurts the fish . there are people out there that dont think YOU OR I SHOULD FISH OR HUNT OR EVEN GO INTO THE WOODS . THAT INTERFERS WIYH WILD LIFE AND DISTROYS THE GROUND

Hi LOYD  and thanks for not making any ugly comments.

I commend you on the removal of the ugly things in the water out there. I'm SURE that there are OTHERS that help "clean up"...but do they post on here?

I PERSONALLY have a LOT of RESPECT for folks that take the time to "clean up"....waters...(lake and river banks...etc...)

I grew up on a small river in Central Minnesota back in the late '60;s - early '70's.....so I can relate to "ugliness' on the banks
