I just wanted to pass this on to everyone about cleaning the boat and trailer after fishing on a lake or river. We are always told to wash down the boat and empty the live-well. Well I have a place that we have a spot that isn't checked or even cleaned much. Jack up the trailer and remove the tire, look behind the rim and see the billed up of grease and dirt. I bought this boat from a local boat dealer, never checked on this. So I decided to grease the axle and hub. Wow, when I looked the inside of rim and found over 1" to 2" grease.  So if they talk about transporting bacteria and other organism, like zebra mussels and snake-heads and other types of fish. We need check and clean this area.

Good point Dennis on the grease. I remember when I had a Skeeter the trailer had buddy bearing hubs and the grease would sling everwere and a real pain to clean. I now own a Triton and the trailer has oil bath hubs so the days of cleaning grease off everythig are gone. Oil bath hubs are the best tihing since peanut butter. Bit I do wash and inspect my boat after each use to make sure there are no weeds hanging off the trailer.

Thank goodness we don't have zebra mussels or snakeheads in Washington (yet) and the state is very strict on inspections for zebra mussels. We have to sign a form prior to each tournament that we have not taken the boat east of the Rockies and if you forget to sign all hell breaks loose.
