There are just somethings that many anglers will have a consensu opinon on. Those are good information to pass to any fellow angler. I do enjoy reading up on other anglers' view on fishing and questioning my own at times. It can only add to my developing fishing skills as well.

Now if only I can convince an angler buddy to not set his drag so loose that he's reeling and drag is slipping on a small fish. Even after a levelheaded sharing of information, I can only laugh at his wasted effort in order to get him to change his ways. I think I will post that somewhere heh heh heh heh...LOL's

If I were out there with ya I'd pay attention to everything you had to say. My angler buddy is a co-worker that introduced me to bass fishing. He always catches fish!! I call him " the bassmaster " And believe me I try to pay attention to everything he says and does.

hey i got a buddy that turns the open face reel upside down.how awkward is that. i tell him and show him the right way  but it doesnt do any good.help

cwalls old habits are hard to break. I have seen many people use a spinning reel in that maner and I'm speechless when I see it. No one ever taught them the proper way and they just won't change. I don't know how they do it but it works for them.

Its interesting this topic came up. My best fishing buddy from growing up always fished with his spinning reel facing up. after not seeing him for years I finally hooked back up with him and he still uses it that way. Now I know he is aware of what he is doing and I was going to ask him about it but decided not to mess with success. turns out he is one of the finest fishermen I know. I guess like you said old habits are hard to break. I know I could never make it work for me If I tried that.

the 1st time i so this thread, the ? had been answered, so i didn't add my 2 cents.......but reading that you-- watwood-- had used what you read and used it, with good results. i just wanted to say congrats on the catch and lesson learned.

i would like to add that these guys that answered your ? are great guys and i would share a boat ride or 2 with them any day. i've read, tried their advise and added my own advice on here

Thanks Dave!! Sorry it took so long to respond, I wasn't ignoring you! You're right about Jim he does have good stuff to share as does everyone else . Which is why I know where to go with the next problem I will definately be having lol !!!
