I have seen this forum and noticed that we have had some disgruntle members which started to affect everyone. Well I got little tired of this problem or disgruntle members, so I contacted the Club through the Face-book which I was advised to flag a thread and they will be looking into the problem. I did report that problem about the member saying the club is rip off .  They told me that they do watch the forum but can't watch or rad every thread that we put up! Well at least we know how to stop a thread to make everyone go and lash out at each other for no reason. I even told them about the problems with the testing products and then the Free Rod & Reel which some of the members are having problems with them.
My best way to contact the club so far is to go on Face-Book and write on the wall. For some reason they don't watch the clubs forum or response to our email system. I believe that we need a complaint tab section, so if we have a problem with the club they can read all about it. I'm not being a so called rat or stool pigion, but just got tired of reading about this person having a problem and blowing it all out proportion. This is a great club as long we stick together.

One of our club's biggest problem is that they don't take the time to listen to those of us on the forums. We have all these feedback forums and it goes no where.

I agree with you Dennis, I am very pleased with N.A.F.C. and tell everyone I know that fishes about how great it is. I have gotten all I expected and more from the club. This forum and the magazine by themselves are worth the price of admission. Anything else is just frosting on the cake.

Guys, I have been a member for several years and quite frankly, the operation has gone downhill. When I first joined, I could call and get a real nice person to handle my concerns. Now I have to threaten to drop my membership to even get transferred to a live person but only after being on hold for 20 minutes. I recently returned home from an extended trip of several months to find some calender which I did not order on my table as well as a bill stating that I need to pay for this calender or else. Real nice way to treat a life member. We need to pull together as life members and require better service from the club. I have tried to defend the club on several occasions when out on the water and it seems that there is a general negative feeling about the club even among non-members.

Welp, all anyone has to do is try to access this site...Those with dial-up have one heck of a time. I believe that a good many members and nonmembers still use dial-up connections. I have DSL and this site is still slow and I have continued posting problems that I DO NOT have with other websites!

At the same time tho, I am grateful for the many new friends that I have made in this club, all because of this site...And THAT is the only reason I became a life member!

I think it is a poor way to do business when a club member has to go to a place like Facebook to complain. Maybe the help at club headquarters should spend less time on Facebook and more time reading the forums! What does it take- an hour a day max? Of course they can't seem to answer the phone or an email either. I have also come to believe that becoming a life member makes you invisible. You can't even threaten to not renew! Tom

Tom , I hate to pop your bubble but they have those foreigners people answer the phones and this way they can monitor facebook. Another thing if you don't complain about certain people that is very much disgruntle members, they are the type that can bring a club down and even close up/fold up. They had other clubs was big as NAFC that closed down due to problems with members arguments between each other.
The problem with this club is already showing is certain people post so much and believe they have they know everything that yo get a common Joe fisherman/person is intimidated to write that he will feel like he so naive / dumb . They are not dumb or naive just scared and a novice to fishing needs and rechecking for knowledge.
So isn't this is the reason for the club, website, group to teach the young and the old an everyone in between. I don't have all the answers like some of you guys, I may not be able to write pages of material, but if I can help a little I will give my best of my ability, and stop those members that is opposing the idea what we as club ,group, website any way I can.

Bang, Bang, Bang Hitting the head of the nail straight and square.

A little member service here on this site would go a long way........I know,I know,  I`m beating a dead horse again.

Now someone can go complain about me complaining!!!!

Thanks Ice Cube Bob, your correct if people just read instead jump the gun and complain this site would get better instead having to wipe their eyes and blow their nose every time. It seem every time I write a comment it is blown out of proportion, maybe it still prejudice against native American Indians, I may be wrong! But I do know I have at least two maybe three monkeys ( old expression ) not being prejudice, but they do make or contradict almost everything I write.

Let me try and give you an example of the way things around here seem to be getting done for the last three years. If you look around (likely seen already) you should find various threads on a chat room for this sites members. It`s not a new idea, we had one on the old site. The managment even put up a temp one for a few months. Where is it? Three years is not reasonable!! Options left = leave or complain. I know, I`m complaining again. If the managment cared about the members this would have been taken care of. There is no reason for stuff like this to happen for this period of time. You could maybe understand it if this was some new "club". It`s not.

For the first two years of this "new and improved" most members could not even get on the site. They left!!! Two years.
They`re many other things like these that have happened since the change which have caused bad feelings toward the managment. I could go on with more, but whats the use?

Dennis, go easy on the people complaining. Many have a legit reason to complain. I didn`t write this in a mean way and hope you don`t take it as such. Just.....if there is ever to be a peace on this site again, these kinda threads have to stop. Complaining about people complaining is only going to cause more complaining. LOL. If that makes any dam sense. Sometimes my words suck but I think you understand. I`m rambleing now.

On the prejudice thing. I think your looking at it the wrong way. I won`t say it don`t exisit, but it is not something that I have ever noticable as a problem on this site. I also do not believe the "old timers" here would allow that to happen. All are welcome in this house.

If it makes any difference I will ask my mother which Indian Nation my Grandmother was from. I do not know the stories of my anciestors well but I do know a little bit of that native blood runs through my veins also. Maybe that will remove a monkey or two.

    Dear fellow life members,
Just what is it that you expect the NAFC to do for you? I read these posts and wonder what it is you think you are entitled to receive for your $200. I've been a life member fOREVER and joined the club for the information I can gather from the staff and the members who wish to share their experiences. That was my ONLY expectation and the club gives me that. If you are unhappy with The NAFC, take it off your bookmarks and stop logging on to the site. PROBLEM SOLVED. Take your wife or girlfriend out to a good restaurant, order a good meal and a bottle of good wine and guess what, you just spent $200. And that $200 will be in the TOILET TOMORROW MORNING. You will have the information you get from this club for the rest of your life. Grow up and get one.

Wow, that is concise, and so very true. I can also agree with Dennis about all the complaining that is going on here. Of course, we would all like it to stop, but then again, some of it may be reasonable, considering the lack of interest shown by the club's leaders. I used to frequent here before the first 'new model', then again after the 2nd remake of this forum. I see that some of the same problems still persist that existed then.

Of course, the lifers really have no say about what the club should be, as it already has our money. They could probably care less if we left. In fact, it would cost them less money if we did. It is only the folks who are yearly members, or the folks who want to become members that the club might listen to, since they still have money that could be taken from their pockets and put in the club's pocketbook.

I am not complaining. I got what I joined for...the camaraderie of fellow members, and to learn how to become a better fisherman. Sure the club isn't perfect, but then neither am I. As for the complainers, I am with the crowd that says "If you don't like it, tell the club leaders. If they do nothing about it, then you have a couple of options...either stay or leave" If you stay, quit complaining. If you leave, we won't have to read it, and all the replies to it.

These is just my thoughts on it, and of course, you may not agree with it. That is OK. In that case, we will just have to agree to disagree. You won't get an argument out of me.

As for me, I am going to go fishing and see if I can put a nice red or flounder on my stringer.

Isn't this an ongoing problem? We've been talking about the club's involvement and response for years. Yet nothing changes, not even the bashing. This is why have decided some years ago not to frequent this site as much anymore as I've used to. I remember the days when Lipripper threatened (or promised?) to come down to Texas and eat all my "Hambergers" LOL. Or when we got real advise on any issue from fellow members, without anyone going off and starting to bash or use foul language.

Ever since the first change to the website the morale and friendlyness on the forums have been going down the drain. It appears that now we try to outdo each other, with showing off our gear and boats. Who cares about that? I fish with a stick and a piece of yarn if I have to. Don't need all that high end stuff to be a fisherman!

Just to recap, the club has rarely provided anything for its members, other then a prompt bill for unwanted stuff. But we always had a hard time getting them to assist us in even minor means. Why don't we just go on with fishing and try to be friends? All I ever wanted from this forum anyways was to meet new friends, fishing buddies, and some useful advise from fellow fishing enthusiasts anyway.

    Ciao!

Wellsley, saltydan is right. Those are Red Drum. The largest I've caught that day was 37.5 inches. A larger one got away, actually broke my hook. Come on down and I'll take you to the coast, down to Corpus Christi. And the "Hambergers" already have freezer burn. Lip never came down to eat them, as he had promissed he would. LOL

Turnip, good to see you my friend. I post once in a while, whenever there is something interesting or I feel the need to put my two cents in. LOL

I wish I could meet up with Jesse and the gang, but it's almost impossible due to my job at Sea World here in San Antonio. But I am glad to see some of the "old timers" like you and wellsley on here. The "down to earth" people. LOL
