Looking to get my computer brain, ECU, fixed on my 150 hp// 2000 Mercury... part number 824003A27.  I have found out that my motor was only made for two years along with the last of the carborated models of the XR6 and XR6I.  Mercury is very stingy with the fuel curves and what will and will not work.   Does anyone know of a "Big" parts store for used parts or have any experience with ECUs and what will and will not work.  Or what the difference in fuel curves mean.  I have worked on car engines all my life.  Trying to understand a little better what the ECU does.  And more inportantly, where I can get it fixed or get a used model less than I can get my blown one fixed for.  Thanks for the help, Russ

Standard Motor Products has a rebuild program for electronic components like your ECU. Check with a local auto parts store (last time I checked, Car Quest dealt with Standard) and see if they can send it in for repair for you. Tom
