I've heard stories about people catching exotic catfish in American waters.  I'm not talking about Walking Catfish, either.  That's old news!   I was wondering if anyone has caught an exotic catfish from any American waters.  If you have a picture, please post it!  Also include the state you caught it in and the size of the fish!

I believe I may have spotted one of those Plecos.  I was bass fishing about a year or two ago and I saw this pitch black fish with bright blue eyes, that was just sitting on the bottom.  I tried to snag it with my spinnerbait, but it took off.  I saw it in the same lake where I saw the Goldfish and Koi.  I'm pretty sure it's dead by now, since Pleco are tropical fish and it gets chilly in the winter here.

Albino Catfish? They were probably albino Channel Catfish, they're really common in some lakes.

Plecostomus live in tropical waters and mountain streams in South America, so it's possible that they could survive your winters. It gets really cold in the Andes Mountains!

What source did you find that out from?  I always thought they were tropical fish.
