Are you talking about plastic frogs or real frogs? |

The type of frogs your talking about are best used in or around thick mats and lilly pads. Harry |

Try around pads/grass and timber. This has worked well for me. Keep them on top like a buzz bait. |

I like tossing them up on top of a lily pad or some kind of thick vegetation and then just reeling it through the weeds, stopping to let it sink in the gaps of the lilies. Btw, use this method Texas rigged so you're not gettin hung up all the time. |

Depends on the frog. Is it more like a buzzbait frog or more like a popper frog? I simply like buzzbait style frog fishing. Cast and retrieve with gurgly bubble trail. |

I like to use plastic frogs around (and in) thick surface/sub-surface matting and large clusters of lily pads. |

I run my frogs "ribbets" over lilly pads and all surface weeds etc. I also have had really good luck around docks and even out in the open in about 8-10 feet of water over submerged brush piles, weed lines and under water structure. |

I have just started using the rubber frogs and have had some luck with the garlic scented zoom frog in the lilly pads or heavy vegetation. I have not had any luck with the scum frog yet but I have not been using them for long.

All water is different. I've tried the buzz frog with some success, but the scum frog catches fish for me almost every time out. In maine the white black and green is best. Because it floats high, you can stop it (and should) at openings in the cover.A stiff rod and braided line will bring more fish to the boat. At times I have had to let it sit 30 to 60 seconds to get bit. Be ready at all times.

Posted By ralphrox on 08 Oct 2010 01:56 PM i fish in a lake that were the lillies are the water is only 2-4 feet deep would i catch bass with a frog If there are bass in the lake then most likly yes, but the surrounding water will dictate how much the bass will use those pads for cover. Try both scum frog type for a slower more deliberate presentation or the plastic buzz type frogs for those more aggresive fish. I have caught bass in lily pads on my lake in less than a foot of water, the 2 -4 foot depth should set up nicely for you. Concentrate on the outer edges first then progressivly further in, and look for openings in the pads and pause your retrieve for for a count or two and hang on!!!! |

The best lure that i use that is a frog replica color is the jitter bug, green n white, spring time and early summer i did alot of damage with this lure. I constantly caught fish when my friends couldnt. I throw it in shallow water usually under or next to trees, works awesome. good luck |

| i would fish everyday if i only had the time |
