I planned a carp fishing trip for later this month thinking that the weather was going to be somewhat warm.  Not so!   The forcast is for really chilly weather.  Anyone know any secrets for fishing for carp in cooler water?  I'm planning on using a mixture of corn and dough balls.  Will this be sufficient?

Just because the air temp is going down fast , Doesent mean the water temp is droping fast . Here in NC the fishing is getting better now that the water is starting to cool down. I have also herd that watermellon extract mixed with your dough works well in the fall.

I've been catching most of my (fall) carp with dough balls.

Thanks, I posted about this in another thread and seems this young man had taken my advice... I was waiting for him to post a report for us all to read and Was excited, but he has seemed to have not came back. Just a quick bait recipe to our young friend and others is here's a recipe I just tried , I started playin' in the kitchen and did this up. Ingredients: 2 cups of soy flour 2 cups of corn meal flour 2 Eggs 3 tsp of oil ( I used veggie oil ) Flavoring Mix the eggs , Oil , and flavoring in a mixing bowl. Once this is done slowly stir in the dry Ingredients. once it starts to turn and get sticky , start to work it with your hands. Now with anything with eggs You have to refrigerate if not in use. this makes just over two pounds of paste/dough. I really like this recipe and it has worked for me.
