What's the best way to heat a eskmo 3 man ice hut in sw. Pa. I'm thinking of a single mantle coleman gas lantern.

an old style single mantle lantern does give off allot of heat and on most days out it will be enough. don't expect it to be a sauna. you might want to check into the buddy heaters, they day a nice job of heating up shanties

I bring a door matt about 4X6 feet to place that over the spot I wish to sit over. Keeps my chair/bucket from sliding too much on the ice/snow. Also helps with heat retention on open floor pop up shelters. During early ice, all I need is the Coleman Lantern for heat and light. Later on during mid winter when temps dip to 10 degree F or lower into the subfreeze, a Big Buddy heater is very nice to have.
