any helpful tips to get a new guy started?
I LOVE to fish and am so glad that I'm in NAFC. I want to share tips as well as geting new locations to fish. I baitfish with a spining rod/reel and fly fish with a SAGE rod and tie my own flies so I get a little bit of all the action and excitement that NAFC has to offer.

First tip to get started. Don't spam post...It is very rude.
Second tip. Please learn to be more explicit of what you're asking. It may take a brief bio and specific scenario of what you want to accomplish.
Third tip. Please respond promptly when others have replied to your question.
    Forth tip. Read.

He is a ten year old kid!!!!
    BACK DOWN

He likely will not understand half of what you posted. If he comes back, he will learn his way aroud the site by example, not by scolding him.

So Slipperybob What kinda SLIMY are you made of? You want to take on a 10 yo kid like that. What the HELL. The kids has been asking for help for a long time and now YOU want to treat him like this? From what I can tell NO one on this site are willing to help a lot of people put at all.

Hey kid my honest advice  is to search for a local forum in your area the cater to kids as well. You can find them. I know of several in my area that have lots of kids on them. I even run my own board for my area that have lots of kids on it. I would love to give you more advice than that but I don't know a lot about the area your in. I live in North Georgia so theres not a lot I know about up north.

You want to be happy for a hour? Take a nap. you want to be happy all day? Go fishing!

I think some of you might be fools to allow, this kind of behavior of spam posting to go on. I've seen this type of repeated pattern throughout the years on the internet. It gets old. It gets old that when I try to explain in short words that what someone is doing is rude, I will always get someone to respond back about how rude I am. So if you tell someone they have a little spinach in their teeth, that makes you a rude person? Please...I didn't see anyone else showing this supposed kid any help. So you all need to curb your pot shots for another day.

If it is a person, then I apologize, but not in a nice way. If it is a true person with any kind of courtesy then, I cannot encourage even a 10 year old kid to be rude, when asking for help. I was on at the very time this spam posting for help came on, and before I knew it there was several posts. I was about to answer and then there were several more posts. I've waited long enough to see if it is a true person, they would've at least checked and replied. I'm giving this supposed person a chance to reply and prove they're not a spammer. Follow the tips and prove to everyone on the board that it's a live person.

Tips for new members: If you ask rudely, you might get the same kind of response back in the same manner. Please show some respect for the Bulletin Boards, we're all on it.

Tips for any members. It is advised that you do not reveal your true age or location, if you are under 18 on the internet. Many people who do so, are often fake. Not all of them are, but it's usually the ones saying they don't know anything and need help.  You've got this far, so you must know something when you click on the agreement.

Ice cube bob, you ought to know better than to assume I'm scolding him.  Adult speaking to a child.  What more do you want?  Want me to talk in a childish manner too?  If you want to, please by all means.  Humor me by responding to all of those posts.  I was about to, until all the wrong signals were firing in front of my eyes.  Signature line, read it.

Thestram are you a child predator?  You seem to be targeting kids.  Who's acting all slimy and sleezy?  Only child predators will ask an underage kid to reveal their location.  Did you PM this kid?  Shame on you, you really should know better.

Soooo prove me wrong.  Prove to me that you're a real person.  Prove to me, by taking off your age.  Prove to me by giving us a bio of yourself with what kind of fishing pole/rod you have brand name and model, what kind of lures you use made by which manufacture, what kind of fishes you've caught and their sizes.  I don't want any location, no specifics about your looks or physical size, because that's not advisable on the internet.

This should be enough to get things started.

Listen here You SLIMY piece of **** be fore you start CALLING me a child predator you better find out who the **** your talking about. Your all talk about when it comes to talking about how to treat people. I have 4 kids of my own and I would KILL anyone that even come close to them like that. The only time you ever post on here is to down grade other people. I don't give a **** what you thionk of me, but if you want to start labeling me then you will get whats coming to a low life sorry piece of **** like you! I don't talk to anyone in private on this site or anyother. I don't think you know it yet but you bit off more than you can chew. I'll make it hell for you here. I have Several of my own forums and you may be nothing more than an ass stain on this dirt ball of a world, But I'll be there to wipe that stain away. I have a lot of people from those sites to join this club and if they have a problem with me then I'll make sure that they lose every one of them if and when they kick me. I know that you yourself are nothing more than someone that believes yourself to be some big shot. When your nothing but a **** stain. Your nothing more than the slim off the back side of a snail. Now push your luck and say something smart ass back.

You are an ASS. I responded to one of his post a few days ago and pointed him in a direction that should help answer any questions he should have without slapping his hands. I do not need to reply to all his post nor do I need to reply in a childish manner. You should have followed your own advice, READ. In your first paragraph, No one is helping him. I responded to his post. READ. Second paragraph, If you were here when he posted, why didn`t holier than thou help him? Waiting for him to respond to What? You are the one ASSuming he is not real. If you truely wanted to help it would have came then, not to weeks latter in your own spam posting of his thread to get your post count up. Third paragraph, All his post are of a ten year old kid, open your eyes!!! He was not rude in anything he posted, just frustrated. Fourth paragraph, nothing but ASSumptions again. NO ONE on this board has to prove anything to you.

You should have left the kids be!!!! You assume this is not a kid. If you are correct what did you accomplish? Nothing but pissing some posser off. I assume he is what he says he is, a 10 year old kid. After all this is a BB and the only thing that will carry any weight here is your word. If he is as I believe, your postingS in this thread will do nothing but chase off another fellow member of the nafc. WTG. Was it worth that?

IF YOU MESS WITH THE KIDS ON THIS BOARD I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN EVERY PLACE YOU POST TILL ONE OF US ARE BANNED FROM THIS SITE!!!

    THAT IS MY WORD!!!

AND I ASSURE YOU, I DO NOT STAND ALONE ON THIS ONE.

LAST TIME, LEAVE THE KIDS ALONE!!!!

walk away from this one and don`t look back. You don`t want a pissing match with me.

Thestram, I respect all members opinions on topic.

I will respond to a personal inquisition, personally at the about the same level. I don't downgrade people, I've never started anything personal with anyone. It's people like you who start this drama thing. You started the labeling thing you should take a label to the way you post. If it doesn't apply to you then apologize and get this back on topic and I will retract the same.

And you want to threaten me? For what? Responding to you in the same manner you've shown me? Shame on you.

If you're having a bad day, don't make me the target of it. I don't need your drama.

    Ice cube bob,

You've been looking for some drama with me for a while. Yeah, you want to make it personal, yet you want the support of the members to alienate me. Yeap, I see how it goes with new members. If you don't come off like a total newbie and have your own opinions, you're automatically the enemy. I see the clique of the old members here hasn't changed much even way back when I was a new member. Didn't even get a welcome when I introduced, "Hi, I'm a new life member." Left me dry and I spent over a year reading posts after posts after posts, sifting through them to learn. You just want drama justice for your own kind.  Why do you insist on make stupid threats?

The spam posting was just a few days ago, posted over a period of an hour. That's pretty much a fact in itself.

Bob, you cannot understand what the old timers here have gone through over the last 4 years. There is a valid reason many will not get involved in this site today or are very limited in what they post like me. With all courtisy, I`m going to say this to you one more time. Only because i see you trying to help some folks around here.

    WALK AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!

    Hello X-Streame Fisher,

Here are a couple of things that might help you in fishing and in posting to the forums:

    Patience.
I went in and removed nine posts (and left 2 still up) that you made over about 45 minutes. Great enthusiasm, but if someone doesn't answer the first post, adding more won't get any quicker answers. It will only drive people crazy. :0)

    Know what you're after.
Just introducing yourself is just fine but asking specific questions gets you specific answers. "I'm having trouble fishing" is ok but more information like "I've been fishing with live worms off a dock in weed beds and not getting anything" is better.

    Doing homework pays off.
Your state probably has lake maps from on a DNR type site or you can start fishing places you see other people at and have a look at what they're using and what they're catching with it. Having a little bit of knowledge to get things going will give you more enjoyment out of the conversations in these forums. Maybe there's even a Cabella's, Bass Pro Shop or zoo in your area where you can see what different fish look like and how they act underwater.

Welcome aboard! You'll find lots of great people and information here, but not everyone will have the same amount of time as you do or be on the same schedule for posting.

some states have youth fishing events  to introduce kids to fishing .

there is also  a wealth of info on the web
a few good places to start are
    Learning How To Fish
    http://www.takemefishing.org/

another tip is to do a search for  the fish  you are after .
example : bass fishing for beginers

i hope your parents still let you on this site after reading the first few posts .

    as for some of you
please do not drive are youth away .
think about what i just said there,  if your a parent you probably  are checking in on your kid  and reading  these posts too.
Take a kid fishing , If the fish aint biting entertain them. Photobucket

On the top of any forum page are a bunch of tabs. IE Home, Articles, Videos, Contest,...........Point your mouse at the "Forums" tab. A drop down will show up for your PMs. Click the drop down. It will take you to your PMs (personal mesages) where you can read and reply.
