Thanks Mike, and Thanks Dennis as a matter of fact I have gotten some useful advice from some very knowledgeable anglers in the forums. They helped me with a problem I had with my line spinning off into a big knot when casting. And they also helped me better understand the use of "drag". Which by the way helped me break in a rod I bought at a yard sale, I had no idea what type of line was on the reel or how long it was on for, but by properly setting and using the drag the way I was instructed to, I was able to successfully  bring in a nice three pounder ( largemouth ). If I had tried to bring him in any other way I know the line would have snapped and I would have lost a nice fish. So...... Thanks to the fine members of the NAFC my skills have improved greatly.      Walt

In case anyone would be interested, you can look in the forums under " Ask a fisherman " and see for yourselves the kind of enthusiastic answers I got to a couple questions I submitted . Look for " Could someone please explain drag for me ?" and "Why is my line spinning of into a big knot?"Theres some good reading there!          Walt

I think the total amount for life membership is around 225.00 Right now I'm getting billed 22.75 a month. I know it may seem like alot but if all I got with my membership was the ability to talk to and get advice from some of the finest fisherman from all over the country I think its worth it. But you do get alot more than that.     Walt

Hi bigfish , Fishing is good in MA although it seems impossible to catch a bass over 6 lbs I have come close a few times though. I mostly fish from shore so I have better luck with small ponds than I do with larger lakes . I would love to go on a fishing trip down south sometime so I can experience what bringing in a serious lunker feels like !!!
