I live in Michigan and we have some great pier fishing opportunities on the Great Lakes (Tawas State Dock specifically) for a variety of species. I make an annual two week trip in November to target spawning Whitefish and Crankbait Walleyes. I would like to try livebaiting for the Walleyes with maybe slip bobber rigs and large minnows (my fishing is 90% night). Has anyone tried this, and if so, to what success? Tawas State Dock is located at the northern edge of Saginaw Bay in Lake Huron.

I think slip-floating is a pretty good option as you can adjust it for depth and conditions
