I'm planning a trip to Lakes Marion and Moultrie this spring, and would like a few pointers... where to stay, what species to target, what baits & presentations to use?  This will be my family's vacation, consisting of myself, my wife and my 10-yr old son.  We are especially interested in the catfish, but need to find enough action to keep it interesting.

I am considering a cabin for the week at one of the fish camps (any recommendations?) and will be bringing my Tracker ProCrappie 165.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

craig you could stay at harrys fishcamp which is located on lower lake marion there is a canal that runs from marion to moultrie its about a 10 min. run from the fishcamp,  this will let you fish both lakes .  In april I fish cypress trees in 3 to 6 ft. deep water also many of the flats in both lakes, I use senko, zoom worms, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, you need to use good line as we have some really good bass.  As a word of warning there are many stumps also on marion there is a lot of grass that just showed up this year.  Harrys is not the only fishcamp, there are many more, just get on the internet and take a        look.  I hope  this helps you                                                                                                                                                                                Fred Lytle
