well over the last couple of weeks we (salt lake city utah area) have had a few small snow storms, nothing to cause much exitement. However waking up sunday morning I wasn greeted with about 8" of new heavy wet snow. other areas of the valley got as little as 4" and as much as 11" with totals in the mountains being around 16". Luckely it was a sunday and not during monning rushour whith all thr Moron drivers. we have a unique situation where we have a large body of water that never freezes( the great salt lake). the storms pound accross the warmer lake and pick up a bunch of moisture and then dump it at sertain areas of the valley. Thes storms are then met by a line of 9;000 to 10; 000foot peacks amd need to dup their load, Very good for the ski resorts but not as fun for all of us.

    Anyone else been getting clobbered?

Here in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, we're supposed to get our first of the year today and tomorrow.  We have a unique situation here as well.  Pacific Ocean, Coast Range, Valley, Cascade Range.  Normal winters have snow in the coast range and Cascades, and fairly mild weather in the valley.  A lot of rain while it's snowing in the mountains.  When the snow hits the valley floor, you want to talk about MORONS.  Most of our winter fishing occurs on the west slopes of the Coast Range, so we go over the snow quite a bit, but I'll tell you, and inch of snow will cripple the Portland Metro area.  Kind of a zoo out there, and you take your life into others hands if you join them.

Overnight temps in the 40's and daytime in the 60's. This is the only reason to live in Phoenix. We pay for our nice weather with our summers!

Well, we got a light dusting of snow and quite a bit of ice on the roads locally.  Temps are supposed to remain below freezing today and dip into the teens tonight before warming back up for Thanksgiving.  Have a great holiday.

well walleyeWayne. Illl just blow real hard and send up this storm. Right now the hospital I work at is talking about having some folks stay overnight who usually go home in the afternoon. Not sure how big our storm is going to be but I may just head home before it gets too bad.

The weather here in MA is just at that perfect spot to be crappy as hell.  40* during the day, raining, 25* at night, still raining, should start to get icy soon, go on a first time ice fishing trip.

well our big storm that everyone was making a big deal of seemed to me to be just our average winter storm. dropped a few inches were I live. I huess the real big deal was how cold and fast it was right in the middle of the afternoon commute. its supposed to get down to zero tonight though.
