I'm going to start taking orders for my Steelhead jigs.  $15 will get you four jigs in a Plano four compartment box.  PM if you wish to order.  We can haggle over prices for larger orders.  My jigs are poured using lead-free solder, so they are slightly lighter than lead heads.  They are powder painted and dipped in acrylic to take the pounding of the coast river bottoms without chipping.  Hand tied using premium tying materials.  I have developed these jigs over the past five years, have fished them hard, and have some definate "go-to" patterns for different water conditions.  They look very good and fish even better.  Let me know.

What kind of sizes are you set up to pour? 1/32?

    ICB,
Nothing that small.  Just 1/8 and 1/4 round head, no shoulder, using Owner 90* 1, 1/0, and 2/0.  I wouldn't be opposed to buying another mold if you're looking for lead free jigs, painted or not, tied or not.
    Talk to me.

    Hey Dave,
I wouldn`t buy a new mold just for me. If you ever get a bit more interest in some smaller sizes and pick one up, let me know. You make some great looking steelie jigs, just a bit big for what we catch here.

    ICB,

I will be expanding all of my offerings.  I will likely be set up for smaller jigs by the New Year.  I'll have to investigate hook choices, etc and will let you know what I come up with and get some samples out to you.

    Hey Dave,

Sounds good!! Some thoughts, out this way 1/4 and 1/8 are to big for what we catch. 1/32 and 1/64 are the popular sizes. You sent me some samples of your jigs a bit ago. great looking jigs. The colors are very interesting and would love to see some smaller ones like these. Usually dark colors work the best here. A lot of times the store bought steelie jigs vary greatly in hooks. The comon brand I get up here seems like the hooks are not hardened very well. You really have to baby in the fish or hooks straighten out. That sucks, a nice fish and a little to much drag and it`s gone. Thats fishing with 6# mono. Good hardened hooks would be nice. When I get a minute I`ll try to match these up to sizes for you. been putting in a lot of hours at work.

    Have a good one,
    ICB/Mike

It looks like the mold for that size jig requires a size 8 and 6 hook for the two sizes.  Eagle Claw makes a gold and bronze version in those sizes as does Mustad.  Diachi makes the size 6 in bronze and bleeding bait red.  I checking the Matzuo web site.  I know I can get size 1, not sure about smaller.

Dave, I am in. I have lost a few of the ones I had gotten from you a few years ago. Let me know where to send the money to.

    Cletus,

I sent you an e-mail to the two addresses I had.  For some reason the PM isn't finding you.

    Jeremy,
I know what you mean.  When you get older, things are supposed to start slowing down a bit.  BS  I'm so busy right now tieing jigs, building rods, working, fishing, honey-do's, babysitting the grandson, shipping jigs, shipping flies, shipping rods, working, fishing, fishing, fishing, fishing...............  No hurry, you'll just be adding to the frenzy!
