IF YOU CANT ACCESS THE SITE .
A FEW THINGS TO CONSIDER IS THAT THEY MAY BE BACKING UP DATA OR MAKING CHANGES SO THE SERVERS RUN FASTER AND THE SITE MAY BE OFF LINE OR SLOWER WELL THEY DO THIS > IF AT FIRST YOU FAIL TRY AGAIN LATER
Another problem some of the people are having is due to there INTERNET connection , Lets face it dial up suck, if you can get or afford high speed INTERNET service it will probably solve half your time out and choppy video problems . But lets face it dial up is more cost efficient or is it ? depends on how you use your computer . I watch tv ,video , movies , listen to live music streams, play games , down load files , so to me the price is justified . I don't have all day to download a file and then be booted for being inactive and have to start over or have the streaming content start over and over and over . Only you can decide if its worth it .
The point is the stuff is being RAMMED down users throats Trev...and with the economy being the way it is...with MASSIVE unemployment...these companies just do NOT have a freakin' CLUE that They are cutting their own heads off in the long run. |

Many of the "lost, older guys" had dial-up. Between all the hassels of changing software in 2007 and the increased difficulty in accessing and navigating, the "long timers" moved on to websites that operated in a way that was customer oriented. Of course I realise that bills have to be paid, but other sites found a way to make it happen... |

This is truly frustrating. This site cannot sort by "Not Read" or "Unanswered" or "Active Topics" without timing out! I've been around for a lot of changes over the years and continue to get PO'd with how things are done around here!!! |

I doubt that dial up access is the problem although it might make it worse from a user standpoint. I have a DSL connection and I still have problems with the site. This is the only site of it's type that I have a problem with, so let's let the blame fall in the right place- the servers the club is using or some part of the hardware is just not up to snuff! Maybe the problem is the club's internet connection? Tom |

Maybe the problem is the club's internet connection? Tom I agree Tom. This is the only site that I have a problem accessing. The club cannot possibly be making repairs and upgrading as often as I am having probs. In fact, just this morning I couldn't access the site, and it was at 6:00 CST. Wonder who was updating the site then? I have the fastest DSL that ATT/SBC offers, so I know it is not my connection. I have a fast CPU and lots of memory, so I know the computer is not the blame. I really get tired of the 504 connection time out error. I feel that this is a good look for the forums, but as you say, spend some time on fixing the slowness before spending too much time on the way it looks. Tight lines, Salty Dan Orange Texas |

Can someone explain to me why when I enter the site I see that worthless 'Main' page instead of the Home page? The site is slow enough without having to deal with worthless steps! Tom |

I can't tell you, that's for sure. I usually just get here by hitting to link at the bottom of the messages of the folders I subscribe to. I also just keep a window with the forums page open. Hope you are having a great day, Salty Dan |

While this new redesign might improve the club's revenue stream it sure seems like a huge step backwards from a user's standpoint! Today while trying to post my computer got a 500 error code and completely froze up! I had to close out of IE completely in order to regain control. Things like this keep happening I will find something else to do with my time thank you! Tom |

I have no substantial data to validate my claim, but I think the problems with this site are starting to infiltrate and effect my laptop. Ever since joining this site, my entire computer has started slowing down. Videos are timing out, pages are not loading. The exact same things that occur when accessing this website. Is it possible that I may have contracted a virus as a result of the flawed "new and improved" N.A.F.C. website? Perhaps. I have never had a problem with my PC before. I have Anti-Virus Software and never open suspicious emails. I can find no other explanation in my hard drive as to what is causing the problem. I would advise my fellow members to be vigilant. Is there anyone else this is happening to? |

When I tried to post a new profile pic, it gave me an error code and said that it was "denied". Anyone else having this problem? |

When you guys get Error codes...try clicking on the Refresh button up on your Browser Toolbar hopefully that will help ya a little At the same time...I've had more problems with my own computer...even when I'm not on the 'Net...every move of my mouse cursor causes my hard drive to make noise. I know several other folks that are experiencing the same thing. I have watched this with my Task Manager running (press your Ctrl +Alt + Delete buttons to open)...and it's ALWAYS either the explorer.exe or the iexplore.exe tasks that show CPU usage....so that tells me that Microsoft has tweaked these files to collect just about anything we do. I personally gotta wonder how long it will take before a Class Action lawsuit is brought to ALL the players involved. |

A lot of trouble loging in. It took me 10 minutes to get on the site and while I was trying to navigate in "my page" it logged me out! I also get a message once in a while: "waiting on Java"... |

Turnip it is just like a freeway the more folks that are on the longer it takes to get some where. It is called bandwidth and if the server cant handle the bandwidth it gets congested. so yea weekends probably are going to be the worst. Im not sure what kinda load the server can handle . but there is a lot more content now . example x amount of folks in the chat room could slow up other parts of the site .
