    Howdy all;

    It was 75 here yesterday, so we went down to the local fishing dock for a while. There were a few folks fishing, but the only thing we saw getting hooked were small croakers...4m to 6 inches long.

    We didn't wet a line, but met a couple who had just moved in to town. We exchanged fishing lies...er, I mean... fishing stories. They were originally from the Tampa Bay area, and didn't know where to do any local fishing, so I told them about a couple areas around here. Hopefully they won't catch all the fish!  LOL!

    Other than that, it has been too cold and windy herer to do much fishing. S'posed to be cold here again this week. Oh yeah, I did buy a cast net to replace the one that has seen better days.

    Tight lines,

    If at first you don't succeed, maybe you shouldn't try sky diving!

    just got back from port aransas tx. 30 miles form corpus christi tx from my deep sea fishing trip caught my limit of red snapper and kept fishing to help others catch theres, it was cold out there. we go 40 miles out if we don"t catch anything in 5 mins. we move again. the secret is to let it go to the bottom then bring it up about 6 to 8 inches, when you get a bite you hit the button and it comes up slowly

    To cold here to go fishing. We have been below the hard water line on the thermometer for the three or four days. Gigging season is in but some late rains we got has the water too muddy to do much good. I recon its time for me start working over some old rods and reels I have had stowed for my winter project.
    Warning: In the event of the "Rapture" my boat will be Un-manned.

    Looks like it worked, but it posted twice for whatever reason, so I added my comment here and deleted the pic.  Sorry.  That's me in the middle of course, my son is the taller one on my left.

    Mr Bill,
    Thanks, but there is nothing wrong with 5 in an hour.  Even if you don't get them to hand, the initial rush is good enough for me.  Our rivers got blown out by heavy rain this past week and won't be fishable for a couple more days.  I fish the jigs I tie exclusively and the boys fish primarily roe.  What is your go-to preference?

    i used small jigs with maggots that day. but i love to toss lures.
    last spring i did my best with rapala's and super dupers. so far this fall the jig and grub has been the best. i've hook a few on spoons, but for some reason they been throwing them.
    if this cold front stays like this, i'll go out on the ice and start jigging them that way.
