I just recieved the notification that i have been selected for the life member subscription thing. i was wondering if all you lifers out there think it is worth the 200 something dollars you pay for it? I'd appreciate your thoughts.

I have no regrets. I've used the lifemember rod and reel for 5 or 6 years. I have also made several good friends. |

It's a good deal especially if your younger. That is, if you figure out the cost of subscription. The added extras are nice, but the best is the new friends you make and even have an opportunity to fish with...Enjoy! |

I have had no problems yet. Except the OCD web design that changes so much I am usually in shock when I open the home page. But, I can adjust so far. |

I've enjoyed it for almost 20 years now. I've met and fished with folks I never would have if not for the connection. I've been involved with fly swaps, charity auctions, and had the pleasure of hosting MuskyGirl for a week of siteseeing and fishing. The generosity and kindness of the members is overwhelming at times. Like any membership, it's what you make of it that makes the difference.

I've only been a Life Member since 2006, I like the magazine and I really enjoy reading the Forums. I normally don't have much to say but I benefit from the information I get from the other members. If you don't expect to get a lot of free items to test and just enjoy the site, the magazine and the forums it's well worth it. Just Mike Lifer since 2006 |

Yes it is well worth it. Not only do you get a chance to field test and win things you have the perfect place to make new friends with the same interests as you . I have been on a guided trout and musky outing at no cost to me other then the gas to get there and a license, stayed out of town for free and fished with friends , even had a free meal here and there. Take a look in the members meet section and see if there is a meet near you . It is a great way to get to know other members, share a wealth of info , pick up a new technique, and learn what this club truly has to offer you . |

Hey Rod Tosser; That is a really great synopsis of this club. I agree that, at least to me, the club is well worth it. I enjoy the camaraderie. Even if I don't get to test anything else, the friends I am making here more than make up for it. Tight lines, Salty Dan Orange Texas |

I agree with mcopeland1. I didn't like the idea of the mag price going up each year so I became a lifer. |

Like some say, it's easier than having to resubscribe every year If you like what you get now and plan on staying a member, then it is worth the price! |

Another thing to consider when deciding to become a life member or not is your age. If you are 20/30/40 yrs old, it would be worth it. If you are 65 - 70, then it would not. It would take about 24 years at 12 bux a year to come out ahead of the game. You do the math! LOL As for me, as I mentioned before, it was worth it. Tight lines, Salty Dan Orange Texas |

Yes I believe it is worth it. They give you enough stuff when you become a life member. Plus the tips and advice you get on here is priceless. |

ditto. if you think about it, how much would you pay per issue for a mag such as this? even at 5 bucks a copy you would more than make up for what you spent in a few years. add in all the knowledge fro other members ( in my opinion the biggest benefit) plus all else. I have no regrets other than I did not start using the website until about a year ago. Brian |
