    has anyone been able to get out on the ice lately...havent tried yet myself but would like to know if anyone is having any luck if there is enough ice...

    I saw a couple brave souls walking on ice about 20' out from the river bank while fishing for steelhead. They were below Rams Head and did have a couple nice fish. I am NOT that brave!

    as of Christmas day i heard there wasn't even a skiff of ice on the Payette lake...all the places that i ice fish during the winter are lower than McCall  really doubt i will b going ice fishing any time soon...but i am going to give the Owyhee river a shot over here across the state line in Oregon come Thursday... besides the catch and release browns they have been catching some very nice rainbows were the river isnt froze over yet
