UPS showed up today and delivered a package with a brand new Okuma Trio 30S spinning reel inside! I am trying to figure out who sent it to me. I don't think it is a gift as it was shipped directly from Okuma Fishing Tackle rather than a store or online merchandiser. The shipping label lists TDA ACCOUNTS as the customer. I'm wondering if I entered a contest somewhere along the line and then forgot about it. Looks like I'll be giving it a try next spring as even if I did ice fish it is a bit large for ice duty. Anyone know anything about this reel? I couldn't find it listed in any of the online catalogs I use but it seems to be a mid line reel roughly comparable to a Shimano Solstace 2000. Mystery solved. Just got an email from the club telling me that the reel is a field test. Just like the club to send out something like that a week or so after our lakes iced over! I'll do my best! Tom

I emailed member services and actually got a reply! Their respose was that "while the manufacturers like a response as quickly as possible, the club does not have a set time limit for replies" or words to that effect. I guess with Okuma's US headquarters being in southern Ca, they might forget that in parts of this country the lakes freeze over at this time of year! Stren can't use that excuse now can they? Tom

Um, Tom, I think shipping somehow got things crossed up. What I'm wondering is how they got your address confused with mine?? LOL

Hey..I wonder if I could get away with sending myself a 370 Sundancer next month and telling my wife it was a field test from the club?

That would probably work until the first payment came due! Tom
