I'm a fan of braided line and have been reading up on several reviews regarding the new Sufix 832. The majority of reviews are positive, however I have yet to talk to someone who has actually fished with this line. I'm curious as to how it holds up to other braided lines.  I was thinking of purchasing a spool, but wanted some honest input from somebody that has actually used it, rather than reading another review. Any input would help; Pros and/or Cons.
    Thanks,

I have yet to purchase any 832 but also have read the reviews. From what information I have, I would think that the only major difference is that the 832 is a sinking type line. Durability should be about the same as any braid made from Dyneema which is the primary component of 832. I initially read that 832 and the Spiderwire Fluorobraid were costly, but research shows it to be close to most other superlines in price and even less costly than some. Tom

I guess I've gottom my hands on some 832 braid. It looks kind of funny when the line happens to be just the right angle in the light and you see the striped weave of the clear translucent Gore fiber strand. Other than that it's very comparable to the old Sufix Performance Braid in the larger lines of 50# test and up. The smaller 30# and 20# test are much better than the old Sufix Performance Braid. Although the claim of the 832 braid is supposed to have a smaller diameter, from a feel and eyeing it seems to be closely equal to the old Performance Braid. Strengthwise from my basement test, it's just a little bit stronger. Nothing close to the literature you're going to get from the package.

Only been playing with the line barely for some ice fishing and nothing negative to say about it. Only that it has body and will look kind of obvious on the spool.

I plan on trying some 832 soon. Sounds like a good line to use with deep diving baits. Once I have some to work with I will put a micrometer to it and compare it to some other braids of the same test. Tom

My friend woo2(Tom D.) swears by it. He uses for all his saltwater needs. For myself, i haven't tried it yet. Good Luck.

A few rough knot strength comparison with lines of similar diameter.

    Sufix 832 Braid .20 mm 10/4 knot break 17# 5 oz. (palomar knot 15# 14 oz.)
    Sufix 832 Braid .23 mm 20/6 knot break 19# 0 oz. (palomar knot 17# 8 oz.)

Berkley Fireline Original .20 mm 10# knot break 14# 10 oz. (palomar knot 13# 5 oz.)
