I still have time to play the Jeopardy theme
between the pages changing after you click
a topic or when you reply to one.
I also get the theme when I go from the
Home Page to the Forums.

Are you certain it's not your connection? Your modem?

I'm certain,
All of my other sites are fast. My videos run great.
I don't have any slowness until I get to this site
Which is one of the best sites but I'm not going
to start messing with the settings just for here
and mess up all of the others.
I'll still hang on and see if they are still tweakin the site
and used the can of raid to get rid of the bugs.

I have noticed the site has been a lot faster recently. I know a lot of other members have said the same. It can be inconsistent though.

True it has gotten faster, But there is a long hesitation
when changing pages. On mine where it shows the page
loading the green starts going and then just pauses.
Thats when I hear Jeopardy and just wait.
Go over to B.A.S.S. which I'm a life Member and click
on theirs and you will see the difference.
The thing is I like hanging here better then the other site.

EAGLE EYE may I ask which web browser you are using? It sounds like you have Internet Explorer. They have that green bar at the bottom. I know there are faster browsers. I use Google Chrome and it is much faster than Internet Explorer. The only downside is that some of the features don't work. You can't post pictures in the forums or use the smiley faces with Google for some reason.

The problem must be with the site itself then. But I definitely can tell the site speed has increased. They did something a while back that helped. I can't remember what it was. Im not exactly computer savvy.

It's those two round things underneath your boat trailer!

No wonder I'm boatless. Guess I better figure
them dang things out and maybe a boat will appear
with a trailer.

I am also boatless. But I still have plenty of fun fishing from the shore! I caught the biggest bass of my life from shore last summer! Check out my pics and you will see!

The problem is not IE. I switched over to Firefox and noticed an improvement, but more in the way the site runs not the speed. Unfortunately, doing so caused any links I post to become inactive. I also don't like the way FF handles my mail, so for now I will use both browsers. BTW, I am also one of those who has no problems on other sites, but the good members are here! Tom

Before you ask Greg, I have a Gateway,Internet Explorer, and it happens all the time.
But I'm usually an early bird.

LOL! Thanks Eagle Eye! I can vouch for my colleagues in IT that they work on improving site speed and stability every day, and we all have the goal of making the website as good as it can be.

I'll keep you guys posted about developments in site speed and stability.

Regards,

Web Guy Greg

Yeah, what he said!

Things are getting quicker around this site. Haven't had a time out error for a few weeks now.

By the way, I use both IE and Firefox. Mostly FF, but used to get the errors with either browser.

I have the same problem with the hesitation. I'm not on BASS....but on several other fishing forums...and they ALL are much faster.

The only thing on here that helps me a little bit is that once I get to the MAIN forum page...I then Right click on a sub-forum / topic...and open up another tab (IE8)...and that seems to help some. But going back and forth from the main forum page to various sub-forums / topics is s.l.o.w motion.

And I have a Dual-Core processor and 2 Gb of RAM...faster than what the average person out in the world has for sure.
