planning on a ice fishing trip to the ludington area in the later part of jan.was wondering about the ice conditions and fishing reports for the many lakes in the area.i have fished long lake near wakhala, ford lake and hamlin last year.posible will fish the same ones this year if ice is good at that time.looking to catch mostly panfish and maybe some pike.

what part of jan. are ya thinking about? i'm making plans for being in the lake city area around then myself or in the early part of feb. just have to see when my brother will be off work and will be up there at his cottage.

mr bill,a very good chance of 22-23 of jan.would really like to fish hamlin or go into ludington and go off the city launch onto the bay area.like stated, looking for mostly panfish to keep father-in-law interested and catch an occasional pike or walleye.a buddy that lives in howell maybe coming over as well and i'll be going there in feb a couple of times.hopefully i can catch that 40" trophy pike this year.i know these areas do produce some each year.

thats good.......i'll still chat with them about those lakes and pass the info along.
there's always a good chance at 1 of them big pike in any one of the river mouth lakes along there. manistee lake seems to cough up the most as for #'s of pike and some are real dandy's. but hamlin and P.M. lake -- in ludington -- does turn them out too.
either way hope you have good luck
