After failing miserably in 2011, I'm afraid I have to up the ante for 2011, I'm not getting any younger.

    Fish 110 days
    Fish in 7 States
    Fish in 3 Countries
    Catch 25 Species
Catch and release IKE, 40" 20lb Steelhead.

I fished yesterday, and will fish tomorrow and Thursday.  I will have an opportunity at IKE This week as it's early in the run and the big boys come in early and late in the run.  I picked up a nice 16lb fresh fish last week before big rain flooded the rivers.  They are dropping back into shape and should be fishing well for a lot of fish fresh from the salt.

    Thanks Brian,
What are your goals for the new year?  Looks like you have a little one needing to learn the trade.  My little one just turned 30 and knows the trade well.  Maybe I should add that to my list, outfish my son at least 2 days.

Save, my goals are simpler, fish a lot mor than I did in 2010, shouldn't be all that hard as bad as last year was.

I have set myself some modest goals for 2011. I have a list of local lakes that I have yet to fish or haven't fished with my son and his wife, and I am determined to hook up with Duckman if not to fish, at least for lunch! That shouldn't be hard considering he makes a trip to the area each year but we couldn't make it work last year due to weather. Tom

    Dave. here they are

catch a decent sized channel cat here in Utah...... Havn't had much experience with cats.

catch all of the species of trout in Utah with a fly rod. rainbow, cutthroat(just one sub species, we have bear lake, bonneville, yellowstone, and colorado sub species.) Brook, Brown, tiger, lake, and golden (a rare find here so I may not get this one). also I can add on grayling.

also I would like to help my four year old get his first fish this year.

Just to be physically AND financially ABLE to go fishing more this year would be a happy outcome for SURE!

Still not able to walk normally after my deck accident in Aug 2009...and 33 months of being unemployed continues to leave me with cash flow problems.

Gotta enjoy some of ya'all's goals for sure though!

I'd be happy just to get out on the water once a month. Ain't gonna happen though, too many things in my life vying for my time.

to fish more especially some of the local places not to buy anymore lures until i use the ones that have never seen water. that means leaving my comfort zones and trying different methods hook up with members like pegsguy catmandu kinder eric ridenhoer and many others too numerous to mention to become a better fisherman and take a child fishing

To fish more days than in 2010.
Hopefully fish the meet at La Crosse, WI. in July 2011.
Fix up and repair more rods and reels from my ever enlarging and increasing repair inventory.
Sell many more quality used rods, reels, and tackle this year. = Even to NAFC members if we can connect somehow.
Try to fish with more NAFC members around the Harry S. Truman lake area in MO.

I acheived another goal today.  IKE.  I caught and released my personal best, a beautiful buck in full war paint today.  He was between 42" and 44" according to the IKE line on my rod.  Unfortunately I didn't have my camera today.  I'm also on pace to fish 113 days this years with 18 in the book, and I've outfished my son 3 times so far.  He's obviously been in a slump or I've been on fire.

    Update on the goals

    IKE (40" Steelhead) - Done
    110 Days - 33 Done
7 States - 5 Done - OR, WA, NM, PA, CA
3 Countries - 1 so far with Mexico coming up this weekend
25 Species - 9 Done - Steelhead, Cutthroat, SM Bass, Pumpkinseed, Redear, Walleye, Yellow Perch, Greenling, Chub
    Outfished my son 4 days

Unfortunately, I lost one of my fishing partners to cancer on the 16th of May.  She loved Winter Steelhead fishing and often kept fish laying still while pics were taken.

This was our last day on the water together on May 1st.

    I will miss you Hazel.
