Anyone have any input on a good printer for home? I'm replacing my current unit and want a wireless unit that will give me decent quality photo prints. I don't need a printer that gives gallery quality prints, just good enough for everyday stuff. At the moment I am considering an HP Photosmart. Tom

I'm hooked up to an HP Officejet 6500. Wireless, and you can select the print quality. I usually keep it on medium and the prints are really clear. It does really guzzle the ink, though. Another thing, make sure you put it on a sturdy surface, a friend of mine has one of the same ones and he put it on one of those plastic crates and every time it prints it jiggles back and forth quite a bit. Kinda creepy!

I know what you mean about the jiggles. My printer sits on a very sturdy computer desk. I looked at the Officejet but I feel that the Photosmart series is a better fit for me. I don't need the speed and the picture quality and some of the picture printing features of the Photosmart suit me better. In the process I save about $100 min. Tom

I stooged around on this long enough that something went on sale, namely the HP 310 series three in one. When I first started looking it was $200 at Best Buy. Today picked one up on sale for $120. Now that I have it up and running I just need to learn how to use it! One nice feature is that I can print directly from a memory card no computer required. Tom

I am really pleased with the performance. Print quality is outstanding. One feature I like is that it uses 5 ink cartridges, 3 color, a black for photos and a larger black cart for black and white documents. My wife was a bit confused, I told her it was a wireless printer so she disconnected the USB cable from her desktop and then couldn't figure out why she couldn't print! BTW, it is a 310c model. Tom
