I am going to the mighty susquehanna this weekend with a couple of buddies for some good old cold weather fishing, We are fishing a warm water discharge with hopes of landing several types of fish.  As you know, the river is hardly boat accessible during the winter with titanic sized chunks of ice and ice covering most of the river this time of year.  We are fishing from the shore for smallmouth, walleye, and I believe someone said something about either muskies, or some sort of pike are in action right now in the river.  I am wondering, is fishing this warm water area going to be an effective approach for walleye or do they prefer hanging out under the ice in the cooler water?  I know there are smallies in the water down here, but I know very little about walleye, and the only time I ever caught one before was off of a minnow at york haven.  Anyone have any ideas/baits on what would be good to use down here this time of year?
