Anyone who owns a St. Croix Ice Rod bag or similar bag should cut some square foam and insert two sets of them to hold their rods.  It keeps the tips from tangling up.  In addition it will keep the rod tips from banging into each other while in transport too.  I usually cut three slits into the foam to normally just hold three rod combos with reel handles broken down.  For shorter rods, you can fit up to four combos even with just the three slits.  It's something that normally don't do, otherwise I would've cut a four slits into the foam.
