So I'm going to Cancun Mexico and all I've heard about there is the partying, but what about the fishing?  I don't usually saltwater fish except the one time a year my boss takes me to New Jersey so I'm kind of going in blind.  I would just be surf fishing but I don't know what kind of equipment I would need of what kind of fish I would even be expecting to catch.  Can anyone help me out please?

If you can afford it, try and take a charter or party (head) boat trip. Many charter captains will match up people who want to 'split' a charter. If you are going to surf fish, I would reccomend the longest, heaviest rod you have. The surf fishing I have done was all live or dead natural bait fished on the bottom with heavy sinkers to keep the bait in place.
