one night last week it took me 3 tries to get into the chat room

I had the same problem last night Skycop. That was the worst I have ever seen the site operate. I thought it was suppose to be getting better by now, not worse!

I read on the site from one of the "Administrators" that the chat room is basically considered a separate entity from the rest of the site. Meaning it has been "outsourced" to another site or company. What this means is that the N.A.F.C. can't alter or improve the existing chat room because it is out of their control. It doesn't belong to them. So if you do not like the chat room and you want it to improve, tough luck! Until they overhaul the website again, you are stuck with the current 1994 formated chat room! Your money is clearly NOT hard at work! Where does my $300.00 Life Member fee go to? Clearly, it does not make it's merry way towards the improvement of the existing website! I like this club but come on!!! Im no sucker!

I'm still geting training on the content-management software and in several other learning-curves (I DO know where the bathrooms and the pop machine are now, however). Actually, the problems were in the chat room. Not the forums. And it seems like things are back to normal in there. It was just 2 or 3 guys in there cussing up a storm and one that was talking about bizarre religious stuff that was making myself and my fellow members very uncomfortable. But things are fine now as far as I know. I check in there about once a day or so. I think the way to solve any future problems in the chat room is for you guys to monitor it and if there is an abusive member in there track who it is and reprimand them with a verbal warning or something so they get the picture. But you know, every now and then a psycho will make his way onto the site. It's inevitable! But it seems like everything is good right now!

Naw, the problems still exist. There was a stage name 'nick' in the chat room just a bit ago, and used the most profane language there is. he was even talking about doing his mother on the dock.

This HAS TO STOP, and STOP NOW!!!!!

I refuse to go to the chat room and have a conversation any more until something is done. Period.

That's messed up. I didn't see that Dan. But I haven't been using the chat much lately either. All because of the original problems. Left a bad taste in my mouth. The people who talk like that in there should be blocked from the site forever!

I think if you look into that link i sent wes and we can incorporate it it would be more of what we members like about a chat room . A user list , a privet chat for those who wish to chat but not interrupt the basic chat, change color text and all , i just think it would serve us well.

I entered the chat room last night and noticed a member using the screen name "booger" and commented how it was a less than intelligent username and here is the response he posted later: booger :

There are baits called booger and he might have taken it as an insult you calling him less than intelligent. But his response could have been better.

Granted It is hard to say because one can log out and change there name to anything under this chat system or go with out a name.
Folks use a name for many reasons . A reference to something impotent to that person or like mine, one stuck to you buy others .
I became known as the rod tosser by my wife after... well you figer it out .
 But the basic rule should still apply,  treat everyone with respect.
