Great article! I have one thing to add and one thing to take exception too. If you are traveling on a fishing trip and Amtrak is an option, consider it. Amtrak is very angler friendly and doesn't have as many baggage restrictions as the airlines. One downside- be prepared to handle your own luggage. Most of the better fishing destinations do not offer checked bag service due to the size of the station. I have also found that I arrive more rested than when traveling by car or plane. My exception is with the statement that it is cheaper to fly from a major city than a minor one. At least in Chicago that is often not the case and it is cheaper to fly out of Milwaukee,  Rockford, or Gary In. than O'Hare or Midway. Flights are limited as to timing and destination though. I doubt Rockford, Milwaukee, Midway and Gary combined offer as many flights per day as O'Hare! Tom

That makes sense Tom. I wish I would get my new issue some time soon so I can read the article. I have looked at some of the prices of Amtrack and it is definatly a good option if it goes near where you need to be. compared to airlines it is definatly cheeper expecially on short notice.
