What are the differences between the different kinds of catfish people talk about.  What kind of catfish is this?

Okay thank you I have always wondered what kind of catfish I have been catching.

First pic definately looks like a Flathead cat & second pic looks like a Channel cat.

Flathead catfish have a lower jaw that extends farther out than the upper jaw. Thats how you can tell them apart from blues and channels. Most people mistake Blue cats and Channel cats. The bottom one is a channel. The top one looks like a channel also because the anal fin looks rounded from the picture. A blue cat's anal fin would be straight and tapered.
